And as we are into it, let's learn a few interesting facts that will make us admire these insects even more!

Grasshoppers usually have large eyes, with a color just right to blend into their surroundings. All the species (some thousands) are referred as short-horned members of Orthoptera order.

Their auditory organs are found on their abdomen, tucked under their wings. This eardrum allows them to hear the songs of the other grasshoppers.
Fact 2 - Grasshoppers jump as if they are catapulted
Grasshoppers use their hind legs to jump very high, so that they escape danger.
Fact 3 - Grasshoppers can .. fly!
Not only can grasshoppers jump very far away, but they can also use their wings to fly
Fact 4 - Grasshoppers are a source of Protein
Yes, I mean that if consumed it is actually very nutritional. As per researches carried out "Grasshoppers have 20 grams of protein and just 6 g of fat per 100g" Would you try them out?
Fact 5 - Grasshoppers species is apparently older than dinosaurs!
Fossils have been found and show that the grasshoppers' ancestors lived long before dinosaurs, more than 300 million years ago.
