My Actifit Report Card: March 24 2019 [bonus: did you know the origins of Tennis?]

I Managed to do some activity even though I am trying to get better from a terrible cold..

And below the blog I wanted to share with you!

The Tennis, aka "The Sport of Kings"

Tennis is one of my favorite sports, even though I discovered it at a later age..

I have tried taking some lessons, not sure if it was the coach's fault or mine, but it appeared as if I had no special talent. And not only that, but it was also very difficult to find partners to play with!

Nowadays, time is really difficult to find (let alone a partner), but I still love watching this game and I am sure that I will find more time to play when I get 60 years old and will not have to work any more!

Why am I bugging you with this info?

I found out this useful information about tennis' origins and I wanted to share it with you!

Did you know that tennis most probably "originated in the monastic cloisters in northern France in the 12th century, and in the first few centuries in which it was played, the ball was then struck with the palm of the hand; hence, the name **jeu de paume** ("game of the palm")."

Before rackets were discovered, gloves replaced the bare hands .

Rackets did not come into use until the 16th century, and it was then that the game took the name "tennis"
