Actifit Website: Suggestions for Optimizing User Experience

Actifit is a newly launched project that rewards user activity with tokens. The user only needs to download an app at his mobile. The app uses sensors to track movement and counts activity (steps). Every 24 hours, the user can post the results into the steem blockchain. If the activity is more than 5000, then actifit tokens and upvotes (worth SBD & SP) via the steemit account are awarded to the users.

This post aims to present some of my ideas that can be implemented in the present (very nice) website, in order to improve user experience, to increase user conversion & to offer useful information to the site visitor.

Repository

Actifit is an open source project on github.

Components

My suggestions are related to changes at the official website of Actifit.

Proposal Description

At the moment, actifit is presented in a 'one-page' website. Here are my suggestions:

1. Swapping two first menu options

When the user enters the site, the first thing he sees is the 'wallet'

I recommend that he sees what actifit is about and the addition of two buttons.
We do not know if it is a new user or not; neither do we know if they are aware of actifit app or if they want to check their balance. So in my opinion, two buttons should be added

1.Learn more (this can lead the user either to an informative - recent steemit post like this one)
2.Check Wallet Where the user will be able to enter their username and check the token balance

  1. Download App so that it is easier for new users on mobile to download app

2. Changing text in menu option

This is the current text

My proposed text is:

Built as one of the first Smart Media Tokens on top of the Steem blockchain, Actifit tracks and rewards your activity with Actifit tokens.

Users can be rewarded in 3 ways:

  1. by downloading the app from the app store (ios version available soon), and posting their activity on steemit (minimum activity 5000 steps)
  2. by delegating steem power and receiving a 1:1 analogy of tokens!
    check out here useful links
  3. by upvoting actifit posts and/or following the curation trail

Stay connected with Actifit and be the first to know!

3. Addition of option 'Download App' in the menu section

It will facilitate the process for the user; who can directly click and be transferred to play store instead of having to

  • closing site
  • visiting playstore or ios
  • searching for app
  • download app

4. Add an arrow that will take the user 'up' without needing to scroll up clicking the bar

I suggest that a move to top arrow is added. This will help users that have scrolled down to move back up if they need to

5. The Team - Ambassadors and Sponsored Athletes

It would be great if the Developer and Team members would be presented with more information. A photo / icon a few words as bio and contact info (i.e. steemit, twitter, linked in)
This adds more credibility and trust to the project

6. FAQs

A link to Frequently Asked Questions can be added for the conveniency of the users

7. Contact

A Contact Section can be added that will include a contact form and/or contact details for anyone that for any reason wishes to communication with the Project Owners

8. Chat functionality

Many users do not like sending messages but would gladly send their message at the chat (especially if they see someone is available)

Benefits

The afformentioned suggestions can be implemented in the near future in order to:

  • improve the users' experience in the website
  • add credibility to the project
  • increase users conversion (users that will enter the website will find it easier to download the app)
  • increase users retention (users will easily be able to contact for any reason)
