A very interesting Catalonian mythology character is a, a smiley-faced piece of wood called "Shitting Log".
This tió (as it is called) is fed every night and covered with a blanket (usually a red sock) to keep it warm.
On Christmas Day if tió has been well taken care of, it is expected to defecate presents!
The first artificial Christmas trees were created in Germany in the 19th century, using green dyed goose feathers.
However in 1930, Addis Housewares, a British-based company founded in 1780, created the first Christmas tree from brush bristles, using the same machinery that it used to manufacture toilet brushes.
