Bad Weather Conditions have names in Greek: Now, Hephaestion is here.. Who was he anyway?
In the past few months, every bad weather phenomenon in Greece is named after a hero from the Greek Mythology. S
Why? Dont ask me (but if you do know, please tell me)
Who names them? I don't know, but I guess the meteorologists do.
Today, January 5th 2020, after a couple of sunny days, bad weather conditions and storms are expected all over Greece but also over Crete island. This storm is named Hephaestion (Ηφαιστίωνας). Do you remember anything about him?
Let me remind you, I am sure you know him! (If not from the Greek mythology, for sure you know him from Hollywood!)
So, Hephaestion was an ancient Greek general and nobleman from Macedonia. He is widely known because he was the closest friend of Alexander the Great.
He and Alexander grew up together and he was the best friend of Alexander, as well as a member of his bodyguards.
He died at the age of 32 years old and Alexander instructed that he would be honored as a Divine Hero.
At the movie of 2004, Alexander the Great, Hephaestion was portrayed by Jared Thomas

In Heraklion the weather has been great these couple of days, but rain is expected.. So, if no umbrella for the people, they can go to Tsikritzi road and get one from there :P

And this next post, I have to share with you ..
I woke up at 7 in the morning, and when I looked out of the window, I saw a sky I could simply not resist ...
So I immediately put on my shoes to go out and capture the moments .. This is my first sunrise (I think) ever, what do you think?
So, this post had it all today but I had to share this information into 1 post, I hope you forgive me!
I wish you a fantastic Sunday!
Thanks for being here!
