Today was the first day of autumn that it seriously rained a little bit.

Rain does not usually last much, which is a good and a bad thing at the same time :) The facilities and structures of our island is not made for rain, so when it happens, problems are caused at/to the streets, the houses, the power supply .. and more.

This time, the rain was not heavy, but it was enough to offer a beautiful scenery and also it did manage to awake all the sleeping snails of our neighborhood!

I took some time noticing them and I learned some interesting facts that I would like to share!

Super simple facts for garden snails 🐌

– > The courtship, process by which they attract each other before mating, lasts between 2 and 12 hours.(!)

• The land snails (like the ones in the video) usually hatch from eggs

• Snails can live from 2 to 5 years, however cases of snails living 10 or 15 years have been noted

• There are people that eat them ...

• Their shell grows with them as they grow

• Their size is analogue to their age

• The mucus (yeaak) of them can be used to treat wrinkles, spots or scars.

• Snails can die if you put salt on their bodies. So, please, please if you do - make sure they are already dead. (aka cooked)

I noticed that there were a few skyliners snails, their ability to 'attach' themselves to every surface is amazing!

This is my first video effort, wanting to share some of my experiences.
