Meet our new pet and happy international drawing day!

Today we had an unexpected visitor. A tiny one, a little bit strange, with big and scary eyes.

We held him tenderly and tried to get him something to eat. But he eats nothing green or other food other than little insects. And we could find none.

We helped him take one bath (two, to be more accurate)
And then he dried himself up.

Clean and tidy, he was ready for other photos and videos. And of course for a portrait of him, as a tribute to the International Drawing Day!

Then we let him rest.
He stayed for quite a long time, so long that we almost believed he did not wish to leave.

But he did. Even though I know for sure that he ll be back again!

Fun fact: This species was first identified in the 1838 and given the name Mantis Praying (Mantis Religiosa) from the special position he takes. It is a carnivorous species with lots of peculiarities..

I hope you enjoyed the photos!
