Thirst for sky
Today I run into an excerpt of a poem and I just had to share it with the rest of you, because it really made my heart skirt.
It is written by Miltos Sachtouris, a Greek poet who aborted his studies in law to follow his heart. And oh, are we luck he did..
The Bread
by Miltos Sachtouris
Translated by N. N. Trakakis
A huge loaf, an enormous and warm piece of bread
had fallen from the sky onto the road
a boy with short green pants and a knife
was slicing it and handing it out to people
but a little girl too, she also a little white angel
would slice with a knife and hand out
pieces of genuine sky
and everyone now would run to her, only a few would go for the bread
everyone would run to the little angel who was handing out sky
Let’s not lie
we thirst for sky!
So, what would you take?
From my photos, I believe you already know my own answer :)
